The Earth and Early Colonization

The Earth had been over populated for centuries. Massive advances in trauma medicine, genetic therapies for longevity, and cybernetic upgrades for the human body made this problem even worse. The only meaningful currencies left are medical resources and sheer talent. Earth is no longer a world where people die of starvation of the body or disease, but a world where people die, because they can’t afford to live forever. Crime and violence are still very real things, hidden under the mask of immortality and near magical technology.

The young try to live on a world ruled by regulation and strict environmental oversight, but it is stifling. They had no where to go, with no hope of their overseer’s deaths. It only left one place for those who seek to make a name for themselves; Space.

It was a short time before the Moon and Mars were terraformed and colonized. After Mars, the process had been proven and tested, and as the population of humanity grew, they looked further into the stars. But to their dismay, they were just out of reach.
